The Studio Gallery

Mackenzie Bell is a professional painter whos’ stunning canvases reveal a unique interpretation of land and seascapes. He has enjoyed several very successful solo and group exhibitions in London, Brighton and the West Country.

Mack's work has been received with much acclaim by art collectors in the U.K., and overseas. He now works fulltime in the Studio.

Having studied Fine Art formally at Exeter & Brighton Colleges of Art he was awarded his B.A. at Central St. Martins, London. He taught Art in Los Angeles & Sydney and was Head of Art for many years at St. Paul’s College, Sussex.

In 1997 Mack left teaching and started a Landscape Garden Design enterprise… "Sculpting with plants", as he describes it. Much of his work in various gardens has been widely published in several books and magazines. For over 5 years an unrelenting search for the perfect house and garden began where the partnership could give full expression to their creativity.

In 2004 just when they were about to give up a wonderful location was found. It is situated overlooking a sheltered river valley (tributary of the Fowey) on the southern slopes of Bodmin Moor near the famous village of St. NEOT. The 3.5-acre water garden was in part well established over the previous 30 years. During the last 3 years they have excavated more ponds, a lake and built waterfalls with bridges. Hundreds of shrubs have been selectively transplanted, opening up new vistas and windows and over 1500 new varieties have been introduced.
